GIVE ME THE CHILD by Mel McGrath (released October 24th, 2017)

My Thoughts: 4/5 stars!
With a title like GIVE ME THE CHILD, how could I not be instantly intrigued? The premise of it caught my attention as well – unexpected visitors, secrets, and wondering if your child is actually yours.
We meet Dr. Cat Lupo. She is a mother and longs to have another child, but because of her psychosis from her first pregnancy it is out of the question. Then one night a young girl, Ruby Winter, shows up on her doorstep and in need of help. With the presence of Ruby, her own daughter is put at risk as Cat tries to figure out Ruby’s connection with her.
I don’t want to give away too much more about this book. I think it’s better going into these kinds of thrillers without a ton of information. I will say that this one will keep you guessing. I never really knew where things were going to go! I loved how dysfunctional this family was – talk about creating some frustrating and memorable characters. The pacing was great and pulls you in right away. It was intriguing, terrifying, and keeps you on your toes! All the secrets, lies, and characters are so perfectly woven together.
Overall, I loved how fast this read. And any time there are children involved in psychological thrillers you know there’s going to be a creepy kid among them. If you’re a big fan of the genre and you want something that won’t be as predictable with a unique spin on these classic elements, then you have to pick this one up!
What are some good psychological thrillers you’ve read this month?
