Book Description:
A steamy, arranged marriage, enemies to lovers, dark Bratva stand-alone romance by USA Today bestselling author, Jane Henry.
When I run, he always chases. Where I go, he always follows. Primal, Powerful, Possessive.
Aleksandr Romanov is my nemesis… And my new husband. He thinks I’m the spoiled mafia princess. That I have the world at my fingertips. I may be his new wife, but he doesn’t know the real me. No one does.
But when Aleksandr touches me, he cuts me wide open, as if trying to see the secrets I hide. Every touch becomes foreplay, every look stokes our passion. Our hatred turns to obsession. But when he unearths the secrets I’ve kept well hidden from the world… I have nowhere left to hide.
No one to save me from the truth, No one to save me from my enemies… No one to save me from the only man I’ve ever loved.
My Thoughts: 5/5 stars
Once again, my love for all things mafia/organized crime wins out. It’s been an interesting time branching out into other genres and I’m not mad about it. I’m not sure what it is about the mafia that fascinates me, but whether it’s true crime, non-fiction, thrillers, historical fiction, horror, or a dark romance, I’m going to pick it up. SANCTUM is the newest Bratva dark romance novel from Jane Henry, and also my introduction to her writing and books. I did go back and find that there is another book prior to this with Aleksandr’s brother, and obviously I’ve already downloaded it.
Harper is the daughter of the Italian mafia and the time has come for her to fulfill her duty to the family – be married off to another powerful man to make strong alliances for the family. Aleksandr is part of the Russian mafia, Bratva, and is known for how violent he and his brothers are. However, Harper has a secret, one that she fears could put her life at risk, and so begins the careful dance of secrets and deception between the pair.
I don’t want to give away much more in terms of the details, because it’ll be very easy to accidentally spoil things. I do love in these types of stories that unwavering loyalty these mafia men have instantly to their new wives. Who cares about them being the love of their life before the wedding, they take the union seriously and show it in every way. Of course their methods are sometimes questionable but you have to appreciate where it’s coming from. Highly recommend and I can’t wait for more – I know there will be because there are many more brothers and a sister in the family!
