My Thoughts: 4/5 stars
One thing I can always count on with books from Bookouture, is that they’re going to be a one or two sitting read. Always compulsive and engaging and you never know what wild ride is in store for you when you open one of their books. That is no different here with Shari J. Ryan’s MY HUSBAND’S PAST. This was my introduction to Ryan and this definitely won’t be the last time I’ll be picking up her books! It is always fun having my name be one of the characters in a book, and wow, this Jessica had all kinds of drama to deal with.
Jess is happily remarried to her new husband Griffin. He’s everything she could possibly want in a husband and she’s loving this new chapter in her life. That is until she receives emails from her friend Izzy, only problem? Izzy has been missing for multiple DECADES. She was presumed dead since no one had seen her or heard from her in twenty years. Her emails are concerning for more than one reason: she’s clearly not missing and she’s making some accusations against Griffin that are even more upsetting. Jess doesn’t know what to believe and she can’t stop wondering about her husband’s past. She knows she’s keeping secrets, but what is he hiding? Can she believe that this person emailing her is actually Izzy? Is their information true?
Things get crazy and out there in the end. I loved that twist and the pacing of the entire story – just make sure you suspend that disbelief before starting. If you’re needing something quick to get out of a slump, then I think this is the perfect selection. I need to start finding more of Ryan’s books for the TBR!

Shari J. Ryan is a USA Today Bestselling Historical Fiction writer. Her desire to write stories revolving Jewish livelihood during World War II stems from being a descendant of two Holocaust survivors.
