Book Description:

A ruthless fire vampire. An unsuspecting human. A bargain that will cost them everything.

Tatyana Vorona has no idea that she just made a deal with a vampire. When the naïve human bookkeeper offers to help locate embezzled funds for a wealthy CEO, she doesn’t realize she’s being set up as bait.

Oleg Sokolov is a fire vampire as ancient as he is vicious. It’s bad enough that his daughter stole money from him, but now she’s sought refuge with one of his bitter rivals. He wants her back under his control, and he doesn’t mind using Tatyana to draw her out.

But as Oleg spends more time with Tatyana, he begins to want her for more than just revenge. When Tatyana is attacked, Oleg is forced to reveal his true nature to save her. Can he convince her to stay in his bloody world when he’s the reason she’s in danger?

Dark and compelling, BLOOD MOSAIC is the first in a new series from USA Today Bestselling Author Elizabeth Hunter, set in her popular Elemental universe.

My Thoughts: 5/5 stars

This is my first time picking up anything by Elizabeth Hunter and now I’ll be impatiently waiting for the next book in this new series. BLOOD MOSAIC is about Oleg, a centuries old vampire, and Tatyana, a bookkeeper in her 20s. She confronts Oleg about the back pay she owed by his daughter at their company and unknowingly becomes an obsession for him instantly. Tatyana says she can help him get back the millions of dollars that his daughter, Zara, has been embezzling from the company, and so begins their new working relationship.

Oleg is an intriguing character. He’s smooth and charismatic – it’s easy to see how Tatyana slowly finds herself being pulled into his orbit the more time they spend together. She’s strong willed, smart, and hardworking. Getting involved with her boss is absolutely the last thing on her mind but things have a funny way of happening. Their chemistry is palpable and I loved the witty banter between them – Hunter knows how make these two jump off the page.

This does have a slower burn start, but things do ramp up towards the middle, and that ending makes me mad I have to wait for the next book. Ending on cliffhangers are fun but not when you have to wait for the next book to release. The spice was there and I can’t wait to see how the relationship develops from here and where this series takes us!
