I’ve read one other series by Stasia Black and I loved it – that involved monsters and demons and I knew I wanted to expand into her other books! CHERRY AUCTION is heavy in the smut, especially in the first half of the book. So if that’s not really your vibe when it comes to dark romances, then maybe reconsider. If that’s what you’re looking for, then you will not be disappointed. This is heavily in the psychological dark romance side of the genre and there’s plenty of it in play when he’s exacting his revenge.
This does have a number of trigger warnings and I think it’s best to look for the full list on the author’s website. I know some readers aren’t fans of seeing them in reviews prior to reading, and that’s totally fine (I’m the same way sometimes). The pacing is great – no lulls and the characters really keep your attention from beginning to end. The second half of the book does include some smut but a lot more of the plot plays out and I found that to be very intriguing and we can see the characters grow more and we learn more about their pasts. Personally, I enjoyed it and will continue to try out more from Stasia!
