My Quick Thoughts: 3.5/5 stars – I loved the action and heist. I’ll always be a sucker for a good heist movie or book – I don’t care if they seem repetitive as a genre, I’m always hooked! This was my introduction to the author and based on other reviews, there’s another series of hers that features some of these characters, so I might need to go back and check them out. We have royalty, missing jewels, black market auctions, enemies-to-lovers, spice, and a retelling. I will say, I wasn’t sure what fairytale retelling this was, some other reviewers said it’s Beauty and the Beast, but I didn’t really catch those elements. There’s always the possibility I missed them because of my focus on the heist plot. Malone made all characters, our FMC, MMC, and even the more secondary characters, come to life and I got very invested in how things will play out.
