DANCE OF DECEPTION – Jagger Cole (Releasing March 13th, 2025)
Now available for download and on Kindle Unlimited!

Book Description:
A scorching hot new mafia series from bestselling author Jagger Cole.
He knows what I saw. Now he owns me. Carmine Barone is a monster no one sees but me. A beautiful villain with a cold, black heart and a body honed for violence.
But when I stumble into a world I was never meant to see, the ruthless mafia heir becomes something else, too: My husband.
Now, I’m trapped in a forced marriage to a man who hunts in darkness. A man who plays games with lies and deception. A secret predator who wants to feast on my darkest most immoral desires. And the only thing worse than being chased by a psychopath? Wanting him to.
Dance of Deception is a standalone dark mafia romance with a smart heroine, and an ultra possessive psycho hero with “look at her and I’ll unalive you” energy. Readers are STRONGLY advised to read the TW inside. No cliffhanger; HEA included.
My Thoughts: 5/5 stars
Talk about an introduction to a new-to-me author! I’m now anxiously waiting for the next book in the series to come out because I need more from this interconnected universe. DANCE OF DECEPTION is the perfect combination of ballet, mafia families, secret societies, violence, serial killers, and the SPICE. This book was so gripping and exciting and I think it handled Lyra’s experience with PTSD very well from the truly horrific things she witnessed that her father did.
Lyra has a stigma following her after she testified against her monster of a father – a serial killer that had trapped women and did truly awful things to them in a hidden basement of her childhood home. She was only 14 years old at the time and her testimony put him away for life, but there are always going to be the conspiracy theory nuts out there that believe she was actually involved. She and her mother are struggling to make end’s meet and when her friend and fellow ballet dancer tells her about a dancing gig that can get her thousands of dollars a night, she can’t resist. Blindfolds, earbuds, masks, and no way to see where they are or who they’re dancing for, that is until her blindfold slips under her mask and she witnesses something she never should have. Enter The Hound.
Carmine Barone is set to take over the family as the new Don as soon as he marries. When Lyra forces his hand to choose her he finds that his obsession with her just won’t quit. As he adjusts to his new role in the world of organized crime and protecting his new wife, he and the members of the ultra secretive Black Court are trying to stop their identities from being revealed as it is not sanctioned by the families and organizations in their world. Masks and dishing out justice as they see fit isn’t how things are normally handled and goes outside of the order and rules they all live by.
Again, the action, the violence, the budding love story between our FMC and MMC. I cannot wait for the next books in the series and getting to know the Black Court and the Barone Family more. As someone who is a big fan of The Hound in GoT, I was 100% picturing him when reading this and there wasn’t a single complaint. I found a new author that I now need to get all of the backlist I can get my hands on and now anxiously wait for the series to continue.

About the Author:
A reader first and foremost, Jagger Cole cut his romance writing teeth penning various fan-fiction stories years ago. After deciding to hang up his writing boots, Jagger worked in advertising pretending to be Don Draper. It worked enough to convince a woman way out of his league to marry him, though, which is a total win.
Now, Dad to two little princesses and King to a Queen, Jagger is thrilled to be back at the keyboard.
When not writing or reading romance books, he can be found woodworking, enjoying good whiskey, and grilling outside–rain or shine.
