My Thoughts: 4/5 stars – This is my second book from Lola King and I liked this one a lot more! My first read was about a 3.5 star (which isn’t bad at all – I don’t know why 3 stars is seen as negative in some spaces), but this one just had me hooked. I’m happy to know that I have one other book in the series that I can read while I wait for the next installment – but I’m sure I’ll fly through that one as well. LOVING THE REAPER is book two in the Silver Falls University series and while they can all be read as standalones, I recommend reading these types of series all the way through. Why? Well, more character background and filling in some gaps on the events of previous books, and I mean, it’s going to be good and spicy.
Peach and Wren. I loved these two and the push and pull between – finding the balance between themselves and Peach isn’t exactly a woman to back down. Their chemistry jumps off the page and I think King does a great job keeping the plot and the spice in equal measures throughout the book. Sometimes these dark romances are only spice – which isn’t always bad but you have to be in the right mood for it. Or on the flip side, there isn’t much at all. I remember this with the other book of hers I read, she can balance the two perfectly in the story. If you love the dark academia, dark romance, and angsty friends-to-lovers books, then look no further and grab book one while you’re at it!
