My Thoughts – When it comes to dark mafia romance books, Jane Henry just doesn’t miss. I have yet to be disappointed and I love these types of series. Even though each family member make their appearances in each book, I love that these can each be self contained and we can really get to know our new FMC and MMC. This time, we get to focus on Matvei and Anissa. Yes, the same Anissa that was Rafail’s runaway bride.
After disrespecting the family, Matvei is tasked with tracking her down. Anissa has been hiding under the protection of the Irish mob, but a deal is struck and she becomes fair game for him to claim her as his own. The title is incredibly fitting for these two, both individually and together. What happens when you have a mafia man that demands obedience and a woman who refuses to be told what to do? Well, the perfect storm for some exciting tension and chemistry. Both hiding secrets from their pasts and refusing to acknowledge the scars they have, these two end up being the perfect match for each other in every way possible.
As with the rest of the series, there is plenty of violence and blood, I mean it IS a mafia romance. This is also one hell of a spicy book. I feel like there’s always one that’s a standout in each series and I think they may be it for the Bratva Kings. That being said, I can’t wait to see who we get to meet next.
