My Thoughts: My introduction to Clio was reading the Three Fates Mafia series and I was excited to branch out into more from the author. One thing I loved about the Three Fates Mafia series is that there was a lot of character development while also having the same amount of spice. I think there’s always a great balance, and considering how spicy these books can get, that says a lot about how the author perfectly creates these characters. In MINE, we meet Pepper, a dedicated CEO of a record label company and the new talented singer/songwriter she is determined to get signed to her label, Salt. Yes, Salt and Pepper. I also found that amusing.
Who knew that two words, “good girl”, would change her life so drastically? Thanks to the charismatic and incredibly talented Salt, Pepper finds herself becoming immersed in a world completely foreign to her. Safely exploring the world of BDSM and learning new things about herself in the process. I think the author did a good job portraying this community and not feeding into any false stereotypes – which speaks to how well Evans writes her books and the attention to detail! The dynamic between these two is tangible and jumps off the page. I loved how the reverse age gap was portrayed and the differences they felt they needed to overcome to make things work between them. I will 100% pick up more from Evans in the future.
