Blog Blitz & Review – Unbroken by Jane Henry

Released yesterday! The next installment in the Bratva Kings series is here and I fear the final installment is upon us (with the next release). However, this series has been one that I’ve just devoured and I will anxiously be waiting for the next in the series.

Thank you Valentine PR for the gifted ebook copy and having me on the tour – it’s been a great series to be joining in on!

Book Description:

A dark single dad, forbidden, Bratva romance from USA Today Bestselling author Jane Henry

Vadka Dragunov—Bratva executioner, cold-blooded strategist… and my dead sister’s husband.

The man who built his empire in blood and protected it with silence. The man with a stare that holds me hostage—and a voice that cuts straight through me. I’ve avoided him, and the way he makes me feel, as I’ve wallowed in my own grief following my sister’s death.

But now there’s no escape. I’m living in his world. I’ve been targeted. The Irish want war. And the only safe place left is under his watch… or under him.

He’s a single father now—haunted, vengeful, and dangerous. A man who reads bedtime stories with the same blood thirsty eyes that promise death and retribution. The man who would raze the world to keep his son safe.

He thinks I’m reckless, chaotic, unpredictable. I was only a child when we first met. But he doesn’t see me as one anymore.

I see what he hides beneath all that control—the obsession simmering just below the surface. The way he watches me like he wants to equally destroy and devour me. And now the same loss that tore us apart is now pulling us together. I wasn’t supposed to end up in his bed.

But the Bratva is splintering. The Irish want blood. And I’m spiraling – holding a secret that could end it all while falling for the man I can’t have. Is there a future for Vadka and me, or will the secrets between us cause another tragedy?

My Thoughts: 4/5 stars

As it goes with all of Jane Henry’s books I pick up, I absolutely devoured this book. There’s just something about her writing that’s so addictive. UNBROKEN is the 5th installment in the Bratva Kings series and here we get Vadka’s, the Enforcer, story and it is quite the heartbreaking one. While you don’t technically NEED to, I would highly recommend reading UNHINGED before this one, only because you get the background of what happened to Vadka’s late wife, Mariah.

We have three people grieving and trying to navigate life without Mariah – Vadka, their son Luka, and Mariah’s sister, Ruthie. Being plagued by guilt for calling her sister to come see her at the bar she worked at, which led to her being gunned down, Ruthie can’t help but feel somewhat responsible for her sister’s untimely death. This book is much more emotional than the others in the series have been. Dealing in themes of loss and mourning, while also trying to heal generational trauma, and trying to find happiness again. I do wish there was more of the action and violence like the other books – I mean, it is the mafia and that’s what you come to expect (especially when talking about the enforcer/executioner of the family).

I love the continuation of the found family trope throughout this series. I think the only part I couldn’t connect with is the single parent trope. Which isn’t a bad thing. I know some people absolutely love that in their romance books, and I think this will be perfect (if you’re also looking for something on the darker side). Here’s to another incredible installment in the series, and THAT ENDING. I need the next book IMMEDIATELY.

About the Author:

Fueled by dark chocolate and even darker coffee, USA Today bestselling author Jane Henry writes what she loves to read— character-driven, unputdownable romance featuring dominant alpha males and the powerful heroines who bring them to their knees. She’s believed in the power of love and romance since Belle won over the beast, and finally decided to write love stories of her own.
