The final chapter in the Firebird and the Wolf series is here and it has another stunning cover. Seriously, major props to the person designing the covers and creating these works of art.

Book Description:
The ruler of an immortal empire.
The rising voice of an ancient clan.
The relationship they’ve hidden from everyone.
Tatyana Vorona was just a bookkeeper until she made a bargain with a powerful vampire that lead to her death and a brand new life of blood and brutality. She tried to run. She tried to hide. But Oleg Sokolov is a man who gets what he wants.
Oleg has the ability to manipulate fire, the power to command an empire, and a will that cannot be broken. But political upheaval and blood loyalties have kept him from publicly claiming the woman who owns his heart.
For five years, they’ve loved in private and played rivals in public. Tatyana has come into her own as a leader of an ancient immortal clan. And Oleg is a breath away from stomping out the brother who betrayed him. If he can play the right pieces in this political game, he might win the ultimate prize— publicly marrying the woman who is already his wife.
The conclusion to an unforgettable vampire fantasy trilogy—OBSIDIAN EMPIRE is packed with heat, heart, and high stakes action. Elizabeth Hunter continues her own empire of stellar romantic fantasy!

My Thoughts: 4/5 stars
Talk about the end of an era. This trilogy was so exciting to read and I highly recommend picking it up. You should read them all in order as they aren’t standalones within the same universe. OBSIDIAN EMPIRE is everything we needed to bring this to a conclusion – the only downside is that the series is now over. I would love to have gotten more to learn about what the future holds for Oleg and Tatyana. It feels like they’re still getting to know each other and learn and grow together, and I loved that.
I think this one is best to go into knowing the synopsis and not much else (besides the events of the other two books). I read this in two sittings. It would have been one but it was getting too late, even for a “one more chapter” situation. I need more from Hunter now and if you love vampires, spice, violence, fantasy, and some morally gray heroes, then this is the series for you.
