So whenever I’m browsing the bookstore I make sure to weave through all the sections, because you never know what could pop out at you. Well, as I wandered through Barnes & Noble I was walking through the YA section when this jumped off the shelf at me.
Another installment in the Twisted Tales series and it’s about Mulan. I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE! So I grabbed it and went straight to the check out.
REFLECTION – Elizabeth Lin
The others in the series are A WHOLE NEW WORLD (Aladdin), ONCE UPON A DREAM (Sleeping Beauty), and AS OLD AS TIME (Beauty and the Beast)
Here’s the synopsis:
What if Mulan had to travel to the Underworld?
When Captain Shang is mortally wounded by Shan Yu in battle, Mulan must travel to the Underworld, Diyu, in order to save him from certain death. But King Yama, the ruler of Diyu, is not willing to give Shang up easily. With the help of Shang’s great lion guardian ShiShi, Mulan must traverse Diyu to find Shang’s spirit, face harrowing obstacles, and leave by sunrise–or become King Yama’s prisoner forever. Moreover, Mulan is still disguised as the soldier called Ping, wrestling with the decision to reveal her true identity to her closest friend.
Will Mulan be able to save Shang before it’s too late? Will he ever be able to trust her again? Or will she lose him–and be lost in the Underworld–forever?
Just saw that book five is coming this year….and it’s about the Little Mermaid. I haven’t even read this one yet and I’m already excited for the next one!
