My Thoughts: 4/5 stars

The beginning of a new crime fiction series and I absolutely loved it! I seem to be jumping into stories lately in the middle of them and that kind of takes the fun out of it. So when I picked up ALL HIS PRETTY GIRLS by Charly Cox and discovered it was book one, I couldn’t wait. Man, what a bang to start a crime series with.

A woman is found by some hikers, she was badly beaten and buried while still barely alive. Detective Alyssa Wyatt is assigned to the case and she quickly realizes that this is the work of a psychopath serial killer they’ve been chasing. A killer that leaves no evidence behind, but the body count is rising. Wyatt knows she’s getting closer when she becomes the hunted.

This killer is sadistic and crazy. What he puts his victims through and how far he’s willing to go sends a chill down your spine. The author manages to keep a tension building as the story progresses and keeps you glued. I loved the introduction to Alyssa Wyatt. She is very family oriented and she has the love and unconditional support from her husband. This is pretty refreshing considering this genre tends to have the strained relationships that trouble the investigators.

I’m anxious to see where Cox brings Alyssa Wyatt next in the series!
