Already feeling like I’m falling behind on reviews. Am I surprised? Not really. There have been a lot of books that I’m flying through lately and I just pick up the next one right away.
Thank to William Morrow Books for the free early copy in exchange for my honest review
AMERICAN TRAITOR – Brad Taylor (Released January 5th, 2021)

Book Description:
Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill are enjoying a sunny vacation down under when they get disturbing news: their friend and colleague, Clifford Delmonty, is in serious trouble. While working as a contractor at an Australian F 35 facility, the former Taskforce member—callsign Dunkin—saw something he shouldn’t have, and now he’s on the run from Chinese agents.
Pike and Jennifer soon discover that Dunkin’s attackers are a dangerous part of a much larger scheme that could launch a full-on war between China and Taiwan. In their quest for dominance, China is determined to reclaim Taiwan—an ally the United States has sworn to protect. Pike learns that the Chinese have a devious plan to bait the small island nation into all-out war by destabilizing the government while manipulating an artificial intelligence defense system.
As the threat of conflict reaches a boiling point, Pike alone realizes that what is being seen is not what is happening. A soldier who has always been trained to fight and win, Pike is now against an invisible enemy—one he can’t actually attack. With the help of a Taiwanese intelligence agent, he races to prevent a catastrophic conflict from consuming a whole region of the world—and the lives of his teammates
My Thoughts: 4/5 stars
Another espionage thriller to keep the TBR exciting! This will forever be my favorite subgenre within thrillers (this and political thrillers). The action, the intrigue, worldwide connections to the story, and almost always some kind of spy element. AMERICAN TRAITOR by Brad Taylor is book fifteen in the Pike Logan series. While this is only the second book I’ve read in the series, I’m already a big fan and need to go back to the beginning.
What you can expect out of a Brad Taylor thriller is non-stop action, believable and relatable characters, and the scenery and scenarios feel so authentic. The research the author puts in really shows and makes this even more enjoyable to read. However, that being said, when it comes to the espionage thriller genre and things are well-researched like this, it can almost feel too real. The possibilities seem endless and when an author can make me feel the suspense and tension like this, then it’s a win for me!
Despite being so far into the series, you can pick this one up as a standalone without issue. Of course, the character development and relationships won’t be as in-depth as they would be starting here, but you get a good feel for Pike Logan. He is a fun character to get to know and seeing his relationship with Jennifer continue and watching them grow and work together. Overall, if the synopsis piques your curiosity at all, then I recommend getting to know Pike Logan and joining him on all his adventures.
Great review Jessica.
Re the falling behind already . . . I have somehow accumulated 9 books to be read and reviewed for January 21st publication, and 2 for the 19th. 🤷♀️What was I thinking?🤦♀️

I so feel that struggle! I remember last year there was a day in May where I had about 7 or 8 for pub day and then a blog tour the day after. Why do we do this to ourselves?
