There’s something so beautiful about that kind of unconditional love. It can turn ugly, though. Or maybe that’s just us. After all, we’ve already been through so much together. And we have so very much to hide.
I have only ever read McCreight’s Outliers trilogy, which is definitely more YA, so I was ready to dive into her newest thriller! FRIENDS LIKE THESE did not disappoint. This was an addictive book and I needed to know what new twist was going to be thrown at us! Despite there being a larger cast of characters, I feel like she did a good job developing all of them enough to where I wasn’t getting anyone mixed up or confused. Although I can see this being a drawback for some readers as it can be difficult keeping track of everyone. There is a lot going on in general in this book but I think there was a good balance where things didn’t feel unnecessary to the story. Overall, I definitely will be going back to pick up more of her suspense/thriller releases and I highly recommend this one.
