Book Mail – All the Way From Spain

Book mail is always the best. Hands down.

Well, when you receive an envelope that looks like this one does, then it gets even more exciting 🙂 The journey that this had and all of the beautiful stamps that were put on it. This amazing Spanish edition of Stephen King’s DESPERATION came all the way to me from Spain.

I’m anxiously waiting for its partner, THE REGULATORS, to show up! For those of you that don’t know, my favorite book – Bachman or King title – is THE REGULATORS. I know that’s an incredibly unpopular opinion, but it will always have a special place in my heart. That story just hits you and doesn’t stop.

While DESPERATION isn’t my favorite between the two, it is still a great book. I know that many people end up liking the one they read first better. I can only assume that’s because they became so attached to the characters and the universe as it was. No matter what, I’d highly recommend reading both and finding out for yourself. They’re a reading experience that I’m going to repeat in July or August (when my reading schedule loosens up a little bit).

This is the Spanish edition, and it makes me really happy to know that I could easily read this one. I had a triple major in college: Political Science, International Relations, and Spanish. Now, I’m not fluent. I can read it, write in it, and understand it, but when it comes to speaking…I’m a little rusty.

I can’t wait to see when THE REGULATORS gets here! Gotta have the matching pairs!

  1. I’m so in love with Desperation. I first read it about 8 years ago and just couldn’t put it down. It’s one of my King novels that I frequently reread. I just love the characters!
