Who has dipped into some new genres this year? Manga is the newest one for me!
Thanks to the wonderful ladies at Barnes & Noble St. Cloud for this recommendation.

Can we all agree that this cover sets the horror vibe right away?

My Thoughts: 5/5 stars!
This was my introduction to the manga genre, and to be honest, I was skeptical as to how creepy and scary it would be. Oh boy, was I wrong! I always love to get recommendations from my local bookstores and this one hit the nail on the head for me.
“There’s an urban legend that says late at night, sometimes a young girl dressed in gothic lolita clothing will appear by garbage dumps to ask a question. Any who answer will, without fail, die a twisted death. And tonight, another young boy will find himself enveloped by this horror…”
The synopsis says it all. Urban legends are always my favorite when it comes to horror, especially when it’s one I haven’t heard before. I couldn’t believe how these illustrations were able to create the perfect amount of suspense and sufficiently creep me out! Nothing is left to the imagination and you see the sequence of events play out in front of you like a movie. There were some cringe worthy attacks throughout and I loved it.
This has all the elements you want in a horror story – urban legends, abandoned mental hospitals and doll factories, brutal attacks, and creepy stalking. It took me a few pages to finally adjust to reading from right to left, but once I did then I couldn’t stop. I would highly recommend to those horror fans that are wanting to try a new genre!
That is such a creepy cover! Probably that read against so much white. Looks very interesting.
