My Thoughts: 5/5 stars

Here we are with book two int he McCarthy Family Legacy series and I couldn’t get through it fast enough. WICKED ALTAR is book one and I highly recommend picking that one up, not that you NEED to for this story. It’s just really good and you won’t regret it. Like with all Jane Henry books they’re addictive, fast paced, spicy, and have all the mafia underworld darkness you could ever want. While I do enjoy the dark romance, I’m particularly fond of the mafia side of the genre.

Our MMC and FMC meet when Ashland McCarthy is going home after a fight and sees that two men are trying to abduct a woman. Not one to normally intervene, he puts a stop to it and rescues her. This turns into a six year long obsession. Quietly watching her from the shadows and making sure she’s kept safe, whether she knows it or not. Bianca is a force to be reckoned with and I loved seeing her growth throughout this book.

As always, the chemistry between these two just leaps off the page. I don’t know how Henry manages to do this every single time, but I get so invested. I highly recommend you check out the list of tropes and trigger warnings before starting, because this is a dark mafia romance. If you’re already a fan of the series or Jane Henry, then this will be a no-brainer and you need to start it now.
